Apocalypse How?

Wow, I totally forgot that the world is ending today. For those of you that, like me, live under a rock, just a reminder that today is June 6, 2006 (06/06/2006) and if we take away the zeroes and the two's it's 666.

Oooooohhhhhh, scarrrrryyyy.

Apparently, unlike the millennium scare, planes won't drop out of the sky and all our computers will survive the day (which sucks, because it is lovely out).

But I digress. If you have not heard two really important things are happening today:

1. The Omen is being released worldwide. Staring Julia Stiles, some creepy kid and Mia Farrow, who I hear is pushing also for a remake of Rosemary's baby (desperate for work much?).

2. Slayer is starting its Unholy Alliance tour. For those of you who aren't aware, Slayer is a heavy metal rock group that no one I know listens to. Yes, I admit, I had a rocker phase in high school, but even Slayer was above me.

So , that's the biggest news I've heard about today. That and the fact that the bible passage that refers to the number of the beast being six hundred and sixty-six may have been misinterpreted and should have been 616.

In calendar dates that is June 1, 2006 or January 6, 2006 - it all depends on how you look at it. Either way, that means we missed it and life went on, much like it will today.

So, tell Satan to cool his jets, we're not expecting a big to do from him and he can go ahead to the Slayer concert.
